New money in the game. Tom Steyer (environmentalist/billionaire) announced that his super PAC plans to spend $25 million in 2016 to energize young voter turnout.
The super PAC, NextGen Climate Action, spent $74 million in the 2014 midterms to support Democratic congressional candidates, including $19 million on ads. The focus of the upcoming effort will be reaching out in a seven-state program focusing on registering millennials to vote. No word on dollars going into the fall to support any specific candidate. Stay Tuned.
